Mixed-use developments or townships are now becoming the thing in the Metro. Developments such as Rockwell Center in Makati, Eastwood City in Quezon City, and the emerging ArcoVia City in Pasig are a testament to the successful integration of a business district, residential area, and lifestyle hub. This creates a great opportunity for businesses, entrepreneurs, and homebuyers to have the convenience of having all your needs in one place.

Here are some of the emerging mixed-use developments in Metro Manila:

ArcoVia City

As mentioned before is an up-and-coming development in the region. The project was spearheaded by Megaworld Corporation and the whole ArcoVia City was intended to be finished by 2029. The development promises to be an integrated, modern, and vibrant township. It already has several residential areas, commercial centers, and retail outlets that have been built around the area. One of its main attractions is the Arco de Emperador or the Arc of the Emperor. Over 6 years in the making, Spanish sculptor Gines Serran Pagan started constructing the arc in 2013 and now it is a symbol of hope and success for all Filipinos.

ArcoVia City is also in a prime location just a few minutes away from pioneering business districts in the Metro namely Eastwood City, Ortigas Center, and Bonifacio Global City. There are also transportation options available that are passing along the C-5 Road that can provide quick access for daily commuters.

Vertis North

Located at the heart of Triangle Park or the Quezon City Central Business District (CBD), Vertis North is one of the newly built developments in the city. Vertis North covers a total land area of 29 hectares that consists of the Seda hotel, BPO office buildings, event grounds, and residential developments and at the centerpiece is the Ayala Malls Vertis North. The shopping complex consists of 3 buildings joined together by a linking bridge. Guests can enjoy a wide array of shops and restaurants namely Crisostomo, La Creperie, Barcino, Mama Lou’s Italian Kitchen and so much more.

Vertis North is also a hub for enjoyment for kids and young at heart. Inside the mall, you can find Neutral Grounds, Timezone, The Brickyard by Lil’s Hobby Center, and the Attack Arena. Here friends and their colleagues can play a new board or card game in Neutral Grounds. Timezone is also home to a variety of games. Get your card loaded up and have fun. The Brickyard by Lil’s Hobby Center is a unique destination for hobby enthusiasts. It is more than just a store, the place is a community hub where hobbyists can share their passion for models and mini 4WD cars. Its mission is to provide a platform for everyone to create, connect, and compete. Last but not least, for gamers out there, Attack Arena is the place to be. It is a state-of-the-leisure facility. The amusement area has a list of games such as archery, airsoft, VR games, racing, and so on. Group up with your friends and have a blast.

Entertainment City

Entertainment City is another significant mixed-use development located along the Manila Bay area in Parañaque. This 90-hectare complex is a gaming and entertainment hub, often compared to the likes of Las Vegas and Macau.

Developed by the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR), Entertainment City is home to integrated resorts and casinos like Solaire Resort & Casino, City of Dreams Manila, Okada Manila, and the upcoming Westside City Resorts World. These establishments feature luxurious hotels, high-end shopping centers, dining options ranging from casual to gourmet, and world-class entertainment facilities. Located just across the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Filipinos and foreigners can have a safe and enjoyable staycation experience in the country.

Parklinks

Parklinks is a township located between the collaboration of Pasig and Quezon City. Once separated by the Marikina River, they are now connected by a beautifully designed bridge, creating an integrated community. This 35-hectare development is a project by Ayala Land and Eton Properties, aiming to provide a balanced urban lifestyle surrounded by lush greenery.

The mobility around the development is easy with pedestrian-friendly infrastructures and even bike lanes. Parklinks will be home to the country’s first urban riverside estate, featuring a river esplanade, riparian gardens, and a viewing deck to appreciate the beauty of the Marikina River. The development is also located along C-5 Road which links the Parklinks to several key cities in Metro Manila as well as the Metro Manila Skyway and the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX).

The rise of mixed-use developments in Metro Manila is reshaping the urban landscape, providing a holistic urban living experience for all walks of life. They aim to reduce the need for long commutes and provide residents with access to a wide range of services, amenities, and entertainment options within the same vicinity. This concept not only enhances convenience but also promotes a sense of community and urban revitalization in Metro Manila. As the demand for such developments continues to grow, we can expect to see more of them emerge in the region in the coming years.
